Compressors
Compressors for air horns
The word "air horn" already indicates that air is needed.
You can blow it yourself, but for larger horns you need a heavier air source.
The choice of a compressor depends on the type of horn.
Small air horns for cars, for example, can be powered by a small compressor.
Truck horns and ship horns generally require more pressure. These usually only work between 6-10 bar. For this, in addition to a compressor, a tank is also required. The tank, or pressure vessel, is used to build up the required air pressure. A valve must be placed between the horn and the tank. When the valve is opened, the horn goes off.
